2021 City Council Year-in-Review
As 2021 draws to a close, let’s take a moment to reflect on some of our City’s important accomplishments, changes, and works-in-progress.
American Rescue Plan Funding
Bloomington will receive $13.3 million as part of the American Rescue Plan. In the next few meetings, the City Council will discuss the use of these funds.
Library expansion and renovation
In November, 2021, the Council will vote on the proposed expansion and renovation of the Bloomington Public Library in downtown Bloomington.
Proposal to address drainage infrastructure
A proposal to come before Council would shorten the Locust Colton sewer project by several years while improving drainage for a wider area.
Flooding and the combination storm/sanitary system
The storms of June 25 and 26 caused storm damage and flooding for hundreds of Bloomington families. Much of the flooding occurred in homes that still have a combination storm/sanitary system.
