What follows are some Ward 9 election data from the April 6, 2021, Consolidated Election. All data are from the Bloomington Election Commission.

  • Ward 9 had a record number of votes cast in a municipal election.

    • April 4, 2017 = 1,668 votes cast

    • April 2, 2019 = 452 votes cast

    • April 6, 2021 = 2,003 votes cast

  • Although still low, Ward 9 had a historically high turnout for a municipal election.

    • April 4, 2017 = 27% turnout

    • April 2, 2019 = 7% turnout

    • April 6, 2021 = 33% turnout

  • Voter turnout in Ward 9 was significantly higher than turnout in the City of Bloomington. Ward 9 turnout was 33.0% while the overall turnout was 21.9%.

  • Ward 9 has a record number of registered voters compared to previous years.

    • 2017 = 6,195 registered voters

    • 2019 = 6,372 registered voters

    • 2021 = 6,615 registered voters

Note: The municipal boundaries and wards were reconfigured prior to the 2017 election, making trend data difficult prior to that time.
